Quantifiers
01 · Quick explanation
Quantifiers say how much or how many. The choice depends on whether the noun is countable or uncountable.
02 · Full explanation
Countable nouns can be counted (apples, books); uncountable nouns cannot (water, money, advice). Many and a few go with countable plurals; much and a little go with uncountable nouns. A lot of / lots of work with both. Much and many are most common in questions and negatives (How much sugar? I don't have many friends). Some is usual in positive sentences and in offers or requests (Would you like some tea?); any is usual in negatives and questions. A few / a little mean 'some, enough'; few / little without a mean 'not enough'.
